If you thought SoFla drivers were bad, you were right

A 7-year-old from Palm Beach Gardens took the keys to his grandmother’s Dodge Durango on Friday afternoon, fired up the SUV and took it for a joy ride.

“It’s not for punishment,” said Palm Beach Gardens police spokeswoman Ellen Lovejoy. “It’s to get him into the system for treatment so that he can be evaluated and get whatever treatment is needed. It could have been much worse, and this is not normal behavior for a 7-year-old.”

Ms. Lovejoy obviously doesn’t know some of the 7 year old boys I do.

    Is there no other way to get the boy “into the system”? I know a few boys who just might try this, including my own 8 year old grandson.
