Some more lies from Carter

By kishnevi

DPUD linked this yesterday, but I think it’s worth pointing out some other things wrong with Carter’s speech.

First off, I don’t actually put much emphasis on his claim of how large the Israeli arsenal is. His aim is to destroy Israel, so one should suspect him of exaggerating the number for his own ends. If it’s based on what he learned as POTUS–well, that was twenty eight years ago, and the information that old tends to be incorrect. And if he’s basing it on recent information, then his source needs to be tracked down and punished for helping him. Israel may have 150, or more or less; I wouldn’t take Carter’s claim into account when making a rational assessment of the number.

As to what else he said.
Quote 1:The blockade on Hamas-ruled Gaza, imposed by the US, EU, UN and Russia – the so-called Quartet – after the organisation’s election victory in 2006, was “one of the greatest human rights crimes on Earth,” since it meant the “imprisonment of 1.6 million people, 1 million of whom are refugees”.First off, almost all those 1.6 million people are not refugees. [I suppose I should doublecheck to make sure what the correct number is, but I've got enough on my plate at the moment, and will run with Dhimmi's figure.] They were born and raised in Gaza and educated on a steady diet of anti-Semitic propaganda that motivates them to help in the bombing and murdering of Israeli civilians, and to cheer for the prospect of killing all the Jews in Israel at some future date. One shouldn’t wonder that they do. After all, Carter shares this attitude, even after an education that didn’t include anti-Semitism as its main course.

Quote 2:He called on the EU to reassess its stance if Hamas agreed to a ceasefire in Gaza. “Let the Europeans lift the embargo and say we will protect the rights of Palestinians in Gaza, and even send observers to Rafah gate [Gaza's crossing into Egypt] to ensure the Palestinians don’t violate it.”I guess Carter didn’t pick up his newspaper the week that that EU observers ran away from the Rafah crossing when faced with armed Palestinians who, to put it mildly, didn’t want them there.

And of course, not a word of criticism aimed at Hamas.

You’re absolutely correct in that Carter is terribly wrong with his figures. The correct figures are much higher than that. The London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) has affirmed in a report that Israel has a ’sizable’ nuclear arsenal: more than 200 nuclear warheads!

As for Gaza, yes they are refugees.. from 1948 and later… pushed there as herded cattle hoping they would just disappear off the map… NEVER!

    Long live the Palestinian people!

Most of the people in Gaza were born there. Ergo, they can not be refugees. Or better yet, if they can be called refugees, because they are the descendants of refugees, so can I, and every other Jew, courtesy of the Romans 1900 years ago.

And it’s not the Israelis who want the Palestinians to disappear. You’re projecting. It’s the Palestinians who want the Jews to disappear off the map. And until the Palistinians accept the fact that the Jews will not disappear, there can’t be any peace.

Get back under your bridge, troll.

    Kish,

Very wrong! The proof is in the pudding. Israel has milked this phrase “The Palestinians want the Jews to disappear off the map..” for a long time and it is the Israelis who are committing the atrocities and ethnic cleansing as admitted to by Israelis themselves. You just have eyes that are open-wide-shut!

As for your argument about descendants, this is the Israeli stand and point of view, isn’t it? That they (Jews) are the “rightful” owners of Palestine even when most Jews in Palestine are and were never born there and are not even Semite.

Look at a Palestinian maps of the Middle East. They have strange habit of not showing the state of Israel…talk about disappearing off the map. And there’s a certain Iranian who talks about wiping Israel off the map….
And last I checked, those rockets in Sderot and suicide bombers in Israel were coming from the “Palestinian” side of the fence.

And I’m just apply the logic that says that people who never born in a country are entitled to be called refugees. Most of the people who live in Gaza are natives of Gaza (which is part of “Palestine”, and therefore therefore at best they are displaced persons, not refugees). They never fled anything and arrived at Gaza, they were born there. But if they are entitled to be called refugees, because they are descendants of refugees/displaced persons, then so am I and every other Jew in the world, because of the Romans who forced us out of the Holy Land.

And btw, most of the Jews now living in Israel were born there, and your last assertion simply proves that you are an anti-Jewish bigot, and are just like Carter, advocating on behalf of Hamas and other organizations that seek to commit genocide against the Jews of Israel.

Given that, consider yourself banned from hereon.
