The kind of question only an aspie would ask

To illustrate his post on the prophet Algore’s anointing of Obama, Ace posted this picture, which is gaining a bit of popularity.

My question: why did the artist choose that particular religous habit as Obama’s costume?
That black on white habit is a version of the habit worn by the Dominicans (Order of Preachers)

Frankly, if I was a Dominican, I would be insulted, given the intellectual heritage of the order. No empty platitudinous speechifying among the “hounds of God”, thank you. (Think Thomas Aquinas.) Comparing Obama to them is like comparing spam to a prime cut of steak.
Probably the Franciscans would have been a better choice. They too have a fine intellectual heritage, but St. Francis’ marriage to Lady Poverty is a much better symbol of what Obama will bring to America.
