*The Four Seasons is simply the first four of a set of a twelve concerti called “Il Cimento” or “The Contest of Harmony and Invention” but they’ve gotten so popular that people tend to forget that there are eight more. But even in Vivaldi’s time some people called the full set “The Twelve Seasons”.
