“Future Direction”

By kishnevi

Mr. Beck, it’s actually fairly simple.

I could still get things done, Eric. What I need is for the state to get out of my way, market-wide, and right now.

You have already made your hegirah to Galt’s Gulch. If practicing your art means allowing the looters to loot you, then you won’t practice your art because you refuse to be looted. Refusing to be looted means more to you than your art.

Let me put it to you this way: neither you or I are sympathetic figures when it comes to votists and public politics. We could both keel over right this instant and nobody would care. To them, we’ve just about expended our social value.

No, you (and me as well) still have value to them. With us around, they still have someone to cast the blame on that properly belongs on themselves. Remember that for them, the fact that we refuse to accept guilt for faults that are solely their own is itself irrefutable evidence of our guilt. (And perhaps by them, you don’t mean not just the political manipulators, but also the cultural ones and the whole mass who have internalized the filth produced by those manipulators for the mass to feed upon–but I do.)

(My own thoughts after reading this post.)
